Absolute Workspace have been in business since 2013 as a pro-active commercial interiors contractor. Over the years, our extensive cross sector experience has allowed us to evolve into a dynamic team with three core skillsets:

Steven Syme
Managing Director

Steven heads up the business and has a wealth of experience from over 35 years of working on construction projects across the UK.

His proudest achievements are working on The Armadillo project in Glasgow as it transformed the river skyline, launching Absolute Workspace in 2009 and helping to create the new Guinness experience brewery in Covent Garden.

Steven leads the company by example and takes a hands-on role in many client projects. Specialising in surveying, Steven also has an in-depth knowledge of the commercial and financial side of the industry.

Away from work, Steven loves a holiday in the sun and often heads to Cornwall in his caravan. He enjoys hill walking in Scotland, a bit of golf and Formula 1. Although he also has a second job as a taxi driver for his two teenage girls.

Tony Vincent
Construction Director

Tony leads our project delivery team and has done for the last 13 years. He’s got over 40 years of experience in the industry, particularly in retail and commercial fit out.

Cool, calm and collected, Tony’s sound judgement and expertise are highly valued by clients. As you’d expect from a construction director, he’s also highly organised and leads the project teams by his own example.

When he’s not working on projects, Tony likes to practise his swing and enjoy a round of golf. He’s also a big Arsenal fan and follows the Gunners through the ups and downs of the season.

Angela Miller
Finance Director

Angela takes care of the finances and accounts for Absolute Workspace as the company’s financial controller. With over 28 years’ experience in office and financial management, she helps the business to keep its finances in good order.

A strong team player, Angela works closely with the rest of the leadership team. She’s got an excellent eye for detail and has managed our bookkeeping and payroll since she joined in 2013.

Angela loves to socialise with her friends and work out at the gym in her spare time.

Adrian Webster
Business Development Director

Adrian’s been working in the industry for 41 years. Since joining Absolute Workspace in 2023, his role has been to build sales and evolve our media presence. He finds new opportunities by combining his own network with Absolute Workspace’s historical connections.

Adrian previously worked for his family firm for 40 years starting off as an Apprentice Carpenter working his way up to Site Agent, Contracts Manager, Director Responsible for Health & Safety and for the last 15 years Managing Director. He is well versed in the construction industry needs. During his later years, he specialised in introducing new clients as well as maintaining current relationships during this period. He has negotiated open book contracts and joint ventures and always helps the delivery team maintain client satisfaction from Procurement through to Completion. He works very diligently and well under pressure.

Outside of the world of work, Adrian enjoys a round of golf most weekends and his other free time is spent gardening with his wife and going for walks by the sea, which will inevitably end up with refreshments in a local hostelry.

Hamish Lemmens
Design and Build Director

Hamish has 25 years’ experience in the design and construction fit out industry having worked on design and build projects in London, France, South East Asia and New Zealand. He brings energy, technical experience and a practical approach to every project. With drive for developing the brief, attention to detail and a proactive approach to client service, he ensures communication amongst all stakeholders remains open and transparent.

Hamish will work closely with our clients and professional teams to gain a detailed understanding of project requirements he will coordinate the team during the design development process, manage the budget and ensure progression of any necessary planning permission and landlord approvals. He ensures cost planning, programming, logistical constraints, construction and budgets are continually monitored and evaluated. Identifying and implementing innovative, buildable and cost effective solutions which bring many benefits to your project. He establishes an open working environment that supports collaboration and promotes all team members to fully contribute and take ownership, delivering best value at all times.

In his spare time Hamish is a passionate and experienced Uber driver for his two teenage sons. A keen dog walker and He loves skiing so tries to get to the Alps as much as he can!
